Playbook Meets Monterey Jazz Festival

In the world of education, the Monterey Jazz Festival organization is a leading force in spreading joyful jazz. Founded in 1958 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit education organization, the Monterey Jazz Festival has been committed to nurturing the next generation of jazz since the beginning. Along the way, this has included Playbook founder and CEO, Sammy Miller, who performed in their Next Gen Jazz Orchestra. Check out young Sammy, rockin a patterned tie and groovin’ hard in the rhythm section alongside Wynton Marsalis. Playbook Mentor and soulful saxophonist Ben Flocks also emerged from the MJF organization.
Throughout its history, MJF makes a lifelong impact on students including our mentors and we are so thrilled to announce our partnership with one of our favorite organizations. We look forward to spreading joyful jazz throughout MJF schools and programs!
